Every time I look at those book prices I wish I could find tractors for the prices that they are reporting! Tractors bring 25% more around here - at least. And this area moves a lot of tractors. I don't think that the authors of the book are making their prices up, which means that there has to be a whole lot of tractors sold for about half what they bring in the Western US. So where are those tractors being sold? What am I missing here? Does anyone know the authors of the blue book and could ask? ....

Agree: 2,500 hours isn't much in terms of an overhaul. However, around 2,500, a clutch may go depending on usage; the injectors and pump may need some work; and max pressure from the hydraulic pump may start falling off--depending on the type of pump. Pump service lives vary according to design. Most will tolerate a fair amount of wear before they become incapable of opening the pressure relief valve, which is all you need anyway. ....
